Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! It is that magical time of year again where candy is plentiful and the outside of people's houses get redecorated with a variety of perishable and non-perishable items alike. I have always enjoyed this holiday for many reasons but I would have to say what I like most about Halloween is the movies. I enjoy horror films but I very rarely find myself in the position to sit down and watch them. Halloween gives me an excuse to. Here is a list of movies that are my favorites and that I recommend for your viewing pleasure: (please feel free to add your favorites as well)

The Shining (the original)
Psycho
The Birds
The Exorcist
Omen
Frankenstein (the old Boris Karlof original)
Frankenstein (the most recent movie made)
Young Frankenstein
The Children of the Corn
The Children of the Corn II
The Evil Dead
The Evil Dead II
Army of Darkness
The Poltergeist
All of the Halloween movies
Friday the Thirteenth: part 1
They Nest
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Pet Cemetery ..........

It is sad to hear that James and Eric are no longer friends. Sometimes this is how it goes. These two young men are growing in different directions and doing what is right for them. For my part, I am happy to have both (albeit separately) in my home to enjoy their company, revel in their friendship, and offer them my encouragement. Those of you who feel it necessary to choose sides, that's OK. Those of you who feel it necessary to direct vile, hate-filled comments to either party - get a life.

James,
Don't listen to the crap that everyone writes about you or about certain situations that have past. You know what you like and what things you wish to do. Being friends with someone is a privilege and if certain people don't measure up to that privilege, then it isn't meant to be. There are many people out there who will treat you right and with respect. Just know that some people who have been your friend for a long time will stay friends, no matter what decisions you make. Just understand that if you still have arguments and you still don't get along then you maybe shouldn't be friends. But everyone makes mistakes in their lives. Just take that into consideration. You still have me as a friend and many others.

your friend,
Alyssa
